UIL Girls Basketball All-Century Team
The University Interscholastic League, as part of its Centennial Celebration, has announced the UIL All-Century Girls Basketball Teams as selected by the fans. Fans cast more than 7,400 votes for their favorite girls basketball players in Texas high school history.
For the past 100 years, UIL athletes have given fans some of the most memorable and exciting moments in sports. The UIL would like to recognize these outstanding performers as it celebrates a century of excellence.
The UIL All-Century Girls Basketball Teams as selected by the fans include:
First Team:
- Erin Grant, Mansfield - Guard
- Kamie Ethridge, Lubbock Monterey - Guard
- Sheryl Swoopes, Brownfield - Forward
- Tamika Catchings, Duncanville - Forward
- Stacy Stephens, Winnsboro - Center
Second Team:
- Brooke Baughman, Canyon - Guard
- Melinda Schmucker, Nazareth - Guard
- Jolee Ayers, Canyon - Forward
- Mildred "Babe" Didrikson, Beaumont - Forward
- Britney Griner, Houston Nimitz - Center
Third Team:
- Teresa Weatherspoon, West Sabine - Guard
- Krista Kirkland, Sudan - Guard
- Clarissa Davis, San Antonio Jay - Forward
